Life at OMH

Benefits at OMH

The majority of our employees use OMH facilities and providers for their own health care. As a result, employee healthcare is provided at the hospital’s out-of-pocket cost rather than at full contract rates charged for non-OMH facilities and providers. Cost savings are shared with the employees in two ways:

  1. Payroll withholding increases are lower
  2. Employees pay a significantly lower share of the total cost of the employee healthcare plan in comparison to the average across the state of Michigan

Sometimes, in a small community and organization, it is hard to quickly advance your career. OMH has provided me with many opportunities and supported me as I grow as a professional. It is surprising the number of opportunities I have been able to experience at OMH.

Employee Recognition

We think it is important to highlight the hard work of our amazing staff. Through programs like the Employee of the Quarter we celebrate the employees who demonstrate our core values of Excellence, Respect, Integrity, Accountability, and Innovation in everything they say and do.

Our DAISY Award program was launched to spotlight our exemplary nursing staff. A similar program, the PHIL Award, has been implemented to highlight our respiratory therapists in the Cardiopulmonary department.

As a continuation of the efforts to acknowledge employee excellence, OMH fosters an environment of growth, education, and opportunity. Many of our employees take advantage of leadership programs and other avenues for career advancement.

The greatest benefit to working at OMH is that there are so many areas where you can develop personally and professionally. The things that I have learned from working at this organization have helped me develop confidence in myself and have propelled me to where I am today.

Community Involvement

We do a lot to ensure we engage with our community through free speaking events, wellness screenings, event sponsorships, and opportunities for volunteering.
